About us

Casa de la Misericordia y de Todas las Naciones is a project of BORDERLINKS AC that aims to provide a safe and dignified space for single women, women with children and adolescents, and entire families seeking asylum in the United States.

We have created a self-taught community for and with migrants, where they can explore, learn and use their skills in a warm, safe and pro-human rights space. As it is managed by themselves, they make this shelter their home.

Our mission

Our mission is to temporarily shelter women and families who migrate under vulnerable circumstances in a safe, hospitable and supportive space in transit to their destination of protection.

Our vision

Our vision is to create a space of welcome and hope, rebuilding each person's life by taking the best of their roots to start a new story.

At the moment

Casa de la Misericordia y de Todas las Naciones is a shelter for migrant women, children and families in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. CMTN was established on March 21, 2020 by Alma Angelica "Lika" Macias Mejia, director and founder of the shelter.

Although there had always been a large number of migrants in the region, Lika noticed a significant increase in the number of migrants moving from Central and South America.

Nogales had no predetermined place to help the most vulnerable population: women and children, who were wandering the streets without a place to sleep. CMTN took the initiative and became the only shelter that serves them as a priority.
